Ms. Bhavana P Sanoj

Ms. Bhavana P Sanoj is a Clinical Psychologist with formal training in evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention. She has completed her M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from JSS Medical College, Mysuru. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and counselling Psychology from Central University of Karnataka and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from K.E. College, Kottayam, with consistent strong academic performance.

She has qualified UGC-NET and GATE 2022 and has completed additional certification course in Management of Learning Disabilities.She has prior experience working as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at St Teresa’s College where she was actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, as well as supporting their academic, emotional, and personal concerns.

Her academic interests are closely integrated with clinical practice, focusing on women’s mental health and psychosocial well being. Her Master’s research was on intimate partner violence and attachment styles, and her M.Phil dissertation on body image, mental health, and character strengths among women with Polycystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD).She has also published an academic work on attitudes toward sex education and homosexuality in young adults.

In therapy, she works with a warm, empathetic, and client-centred approach, creating a safe and supportive therapeutic space that enables individuals to explore emotional difficulties at their own pace, guided by a trauma-informed framework that emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment.She is trained in evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and mindfulness-based interventions.

She has hands-on clinical experience in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, including IQ testing, personality assessment, and psychodiagnostic evaluations. Her clinical work involves providing individual psychotherapy for a wide range of psychological concerns such as depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, stress-related problems, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, and personality-related concerns.
