Ms Akhila R Krishna is a Trauma Informed Clinical Psychologist. She completed her MPhil in Clinical Psychology from JSS Medical College, Mysore and her Master’s from Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bangalore and her Bachelor’s from Prajyoti Niketan college, Pudukkad (Calicut University).
Specializing in trauma-informed interventions, she seamlessly combines empathy with evidence-based approaches to guide individuals on their journey to healing. Her keen interest in neuropsychology and research enriches her comprehension of the intricate connections between the mind and behaviour.
Ms. Akhila has contributed significantly to the field, publishing two research articles in international journals. Her M.Phil thesis delved into the topic of Behaviour Addiction among Adolescents, exploring mobile phone addiction, porn addiction, gaming addiction, and social media addiction. This research investigated the neuropsychological functioning of these adolescents. Notably, Ms. Akhila developed a tool for assessing behaviour addiction known as BAAS (Behaviour Addiction Assessment Scale) which is currently in the process of publication.
She is proficient in various psychodiagnostic assessments and works extensively with individuals facing PTSD, CPTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Alcohol and Substance Abuse, and other emotional challenges. Apart from this she is also trained in working with children and adolescents with emotional issues.
Her specialisation lies in Schema therapy, Cognitive Behaviour therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Mindfulness based Cognitive therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy and in Cognitive Retraining and Behaviour therapy especially for Children.
